The most important part of your business is TRUST. With every business being online now - how do you build it while 100 to 500 people are clicking on your site every week?
The most common mistakes business owners make is grabbing images from the internet to express their brand and services they offer.
Where is the trust broken?
When the viewer can clearly see that the images you have are stock images, and not ones that captured specifically for your brand and business. You are no where in the images, not your face, your hands, your spaces - the REAL you, and YOUR business is no where to be seen.
I once worked with a Dentist who came in for her headshots. When we started talking about branding, she whipped out her phone and started telling me about here awesome website and how unique it was. When I clicked on the staff page, the image was of a group of hired models in scrubs and the content wrote about their excellent customer service.
Where was her excellent staff? Not on the site.
Malekah is one of the sweetest humans I have met. She is passionate about her practice and all she wants is positive connections between her staff and with her clients. After all, these people are trusting her with their teeth!
Do you see where I am going with this?
Every client that walks in there will see the real staff and think, "hmm". My client laughed out loud and mentioned how one of her clients actually said "I walked in here and no one looks like the people in the photos".
Think of your images on your site like this: Remember when you would go to your favourite relatives place? Perhaps it was your grandparents, or you Aunt Viv's or Uncle Frank's. Do you remember recognizing certain smells or specific items in their home that you loved, and you would walk in expecting them? Each time you visited that warm and inviting space, you are reminded of their comfort and love. They are family. And you know you can trust their welcome and guidance.
That is what your branding is all about. Building trust through every visual media you use.
The key here is to keep it consistent.
So what did Malekah do? She brought me in to take a portrait of each staff member and we took images of them working with REAL clients. The images were warm and thus created a sense of family. Now when people visit her site, not only are they being introduced to her businesses real world, they get that realtionships between staff and clients is something that is important to Malekah.
